Vikes on a Roll

Yesterday’s contest between the Vikings and Seahawks can be summed up in one number: 4. Here are – you guessed it – 4 reasons why:
  1. This one’s easy – Good ol’ Number 4 set a career mark for passing efficiency in a near-flawless performance.
  2. Related to reason #1, Favre tossed a total of 4 TDs. If I’m Brad Childress, I want to keep A.P. as happy long as possible since he’s the future of my team. At the same time, I know I have to call Favre’s number when he’s as hot as he was Sunday.
  3. The Vikes run defense was ridiculous (in a good way) holding the Seahawks to a franchise-low 4 rushing yards. Yes, the ’Hawks were forced to throw early and often (given the deficit), but by stopping the run in early critical situations – including causing a 9-yard loss on 3rd and 2 – the run D paved the way for its team to blow the game open. Before falling behind 21-0, Seattle’s rushing total was negative.
  4. The team played 4 full quarters. With a 21-point lead, the offense went 4-and-out on somewhat questionable play calling to start the second half, but did not succumb to another second-half letdown. The team played at a high level on offense, defense and special teams all day. Even after backups took over at several positions, the Vikes still put 7 more on the board, while holding the Seahawks to 6 points and denying a 2-point conversion attempt.

Oh, and if that wasn't enough, Spongebob was in da house!
